It’s 11.49 P.M and I’m way too tired to write a lot, therefore I’ll simply post some pictures from yesterdays shoot of Campsite, Nils Crone’s latest film. Check it out over at Redhawk Productions. No really serious photos, but we all had a great time.
I haven’t really had the time to update the blog for a while since school started again this Monday. Neither have I’ve been able to get any photography done, although some editing during the dark hours before sleep. In other news, a good friend of mine, Nils Crone is soon about to start filming his new movie. I won’t personally be in the movie (luckily ;)) but I will do some behind the scenes and promotional shots. Nothing serious, but it’ll be a lot of fun. Check out his other movies and news at Redhawk Productions. Meanwhile, here’s one of the images I’ve been editing during the week.
Another week has passed by pretty quickly. I’ve spent most of time time just working, sleeping and eating so there hasn’t been any time for me to photograph. Now there’s only one more week before it’s back to school, though I gotta admit I’m actually looking forward to it since I haven’t really seen my classmates for the whole break now. It’s also nice to know that I’m beginning my last year in high-school, since a lot of the courses I didn’t like ended last year. I’ve also been trying to figure out what to do my project work on. It will of course be photo related, but I really don’t know what to do yet. Luckily there’s still some time before the decision has to me made.
Apart from everything that’s related to school or work I have to recommend Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog created by Joss Whedon starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day. Watch it.
Last but not least, here’s a photo from Budapest.
Another weekend has come and ended. On Saturday I went down town to shoot the Nestea Swedish Beach Tour, a volleyball competition. It was actually a lot harder than I expected, especially timing the shots, but some of them turned out quite well in my opinion.

Lawrence Montas doing an underarm pass

With his 206 cm Marcus Nilsson is a pretty solid volleyboll player

Dutch M. Meppelink and M. Wiltens lost in the final against Swedish A. Andersson and J. Rohkamper

L. Montas and Jonsson couldn’t hold up against M. Nilsson and P. Jonsson in the men’s final.
Apart from the volleyboll I also did some experimenting with my Tamron and 50mm to get some macros.
Tomorrow it’s back to work, but I’ll try to post a bit the upcoming week.
First new post this week. Hurray for me. On Friday me and to friends went to see The Dark Night on the premier. The movie was brilliant, probably the best action movie I’ve even seen. The acting was solid, action scenes great, music fitted in perfectly throughout the entire film. I can definitely recommend it.
Yesterday we enjoyed the weather and went down to the ocean. The water is slowly getting warmer and warmer, so it’s really nice to take a swim every now and then, especially since it’s so hot during the days. In the evening we went to my place and played some Xbox360, started watching season one of How I Met Your Mother (One of the best shows ever) and sat on the balcony just talking.
Tomorrow it’s back to work, so here’s two pictures from this weekend.
Watched Hancock in Helsingborg with my friend on Friday evening. Pretty funny movie actually, maybe not worth going to the cinema to see, but at least worth watching. After the movie we went out and met some other guys who I haven’t seen in a while. We talked and shared memories and after that me and my friend headed back to his place to watch some TV and go to sleep.
Yesterday, when I got back to Malmö from Helsingborg, I got a flyer promoting a skate event in Stapelbäddsparken so I decided to go there to get some photography done. Unfortunately it started pouring down just as the event was about to start and since skating on wet concrete is close to impossible, the event was cancelled. Hopefully they’ll try to reschedule it, although I doubt it. Later that night I went to my friend’s house where we celebrated his 18th birthday (although it was a couple of weeks ago). We had a great time although some may have drunk a bit too much.
To finish off, here’s a picture from Budapest from the Chain Bridge, overlooking the river which splits Budapest into two parts, Buda and Pest. On the right is the Parliament.
You may have noticed there haven’t been any updates for a while now, neither photos or texts. This is because I started work Monday and simply haven’t found the time to post. Besides, a good friend from Helsingborg who works at the same place as me is staying over so he doesn’t have to take the 1 hour train to work each morning. Tonight I’m going up to Helsingborg to see Hancock with him and tomorrow is my friend’s 18th birthday party. Here’s a picture of him in Budapest (although it could be anywhere ;))
It’s Wednesday night, 02.51 AM and I’m back home here in Malmö, with it’s chilly nights. Came home at around 1 AM and spent most of my time telling my mom about my travelling adventures and improving my personal hygiene (backpacking made me loose it somewhere along the way). I’be got have some pictures to look through, but sadly enough a lot less than I had hoped for. Not that it matters, considering I’ve had the greatest time of my life while roaming around Europe.
Tomorrow is the big day. At 08.02 A.M the train departures from Malmö C to Copenhagen and after that it’s the train to our first stop of this Eurotrip, Berlin. Everything’s packed and charged. I’ve also made an extra account so I can post from public computers without worrying about the people after me doing too much damage. I’ll try to come online every now and then, at least just to write a little something. Just don’t expect any photos until I come back on the 7th July. Can’t really think of anything else to write right now, so wish me luck.

You may have noticed there hasn’t been a lot of new posts the last couple of days. It’s not that I haven’t have time to write, I just haven’t had anything interesting to write about. I haven’t been able to take some new photos since I forgot my camera at my friends house last Thursday and didn’t pick it up until this Tuesday. Mostly I’ve spent my time enjoying the weather and listening to music. School ended officially yesterday and i got my grades. Not brilliant but not too bad either, I’m satisfied with them. Apart from that me and my friend have started planning our Eurotrip which begins this Monday. We’ll be visiting the following cities during our backpacking which takes place during 22 days, beginning on the 16th of June (Monday).
- Berlin
- Warsaw
- Krakow
- Prague
- Budapest
and if there’s enough time we might take a day or two in Croatia. I’m really looking forward to the travelling and of course all the photos I’ll be able to take. Just the other day I was down at the local camera store and bought some more memory to hold all the upcoming shots. Unfortunately I probably won’t be able to post any of those photos while I’m out travelling, but I’ll try to write something every now and then to keep you updated on my adventures.
That’s all for now, so here’s an abstract macro shot I just took.
Don’t really know which event is bigger. I guess the Sensation White is, so I’ll start with that one.
Sensation is an annual music event splitted into two themes, black and white. Sensation Black represents the harder and darker side of the EDM scene, ie harstyle, hard trance, techno, jumpstyle. Sensation White on the other hands represents the more uplifting side, trance, house progressive. I’ve always wanted to goes to one of these events, but haven’t been able. They’re spread out across Europe and the closest events takes place in the Amsterdam ArenA. First of all it’s too far for me to travel, or more truthfully, too expensive. Second of all, I have always been too young to be admitted entrance. But this year is not like the previous ones. I’m 18, so I’m finally allowed to enter these events. But most importantly, one of this year’s Sensation will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark. That’s a 20 minute ride with the train from Sweden. Rumours say that it’ll take place the 15th November at Parken, the stadium in Copenhagen. It hasn’t been officially announced yet, but hopefully the rumours will be true.
The second event, which is a bit more noticed by the public, is of course the kick-off for this year’s European Championship in football. Since I’m free from school I’ll probably take the time to see most of the matches. At least when Sweden play.
To finish this post off, I’ve chosen a photo taken at the Horseshow here in Malmö some weeks ago.
School is finally coming to and end. The summer break has already started, kinda at least. Got know lessons tomorrow, got Friday off since it’s the Swedish national day. Weekend. No lessons on Monday or Tuesday and on Wednesday we get our grades and after that we’re free to do whatever we want. Summer is here in other words. Tomorrow it’s off to the beach and in the evening I’m going up to Helsingborg to attend some friends’ graduations. Hopefully it’ll go a bit better that last time.
Today I also got a chance to try the Ninja Gaiden 2 demo to Xbox360 and I gotta say it was pretty fun, even tough I haven’t played the first one. Fast paced action, bodies being sliced in all possibly directions, gore, blood and some more gore. What’s not to like about it? Okay, it got some issues with the camera, but it certainly makes up for it with some more gore.
And here’s an older photo to finish this post off.
This was actually on Thursday last week, but it doesn’t hurt to post a bit about it anyway. I’m not actually graduating this year, so instead me and some other helped organize the kick-outs games for the students who where graduating. The planning went really well, but when the day actually came chaos was total. Doesn’t really matter though. Everyone had a great time, the weather was beautiful and the mood great. Here’s a picture of me after all the egg-, flour-, and paint-throwing. For once I’m actually on the other side of the lens. The shirt say: “Even a Petriot has a difficult time to be smart and love at the same time”. A Petriot is a mashup between S:t Petri, the name of my school, and patriot. Petriot, clever, isn’t it?
It’s funny how a situation can come crashing down by the smallest change of events. Yesterday a good friend of mine turned 20, and there was a party planned at his place yesterday evening. It started at 6 P.M. but I already knew we wasn’t going make it until then. I say cause me and a friend were supposed to go there together and he didn’t get of his work until 4 P.M. Okay, so that’s 2 hours between. Should be plenty of time to get there, shouldn’t it? Well, the thing is our friend lives halfway across the province, and it takes a lot of time to get there by train. Anyway, I did a quick check on the train table and decided that the 5.37 P.M. train would be the best one to catch. 1 hour and 37 minutes between my friend gets of work and the have to be at the train station down town. Still plenty of time to spare. Somewhere around 4 I get a phone call from my friend and he asks me to check when the bus leaves from our places to the train station. Since I’m a time optimist I simply replied “Hey, they go every 5 minute or so, just come over to my place when your ready and we’ll head down”. “Sure thing”, my buddy says and hangs up.
4.40 P.M.
At this time I decided to check the timetable for the buses, just to make sure I wasn’t to optimistic about the whole thing. I was. Turns out the buses only leave every 20th minute. A quick call to my friend:
Me: Hey, we gotta catch the bus at 5.01 P.M. if we wanna get to the train station on time.
D: You’re kidding me, right?
Me: Nah, we gotta catch that bus, otherwise we gotta wait an hour before the next train.
D: I just left work, so don’t expect a miracle.
His job if pretty much on the other side of town, and he was riding his bike. Time was staring to fight against us.
Me: Yeah whatever, just hurry up.
4.58 P.M.
I see D walking along the street so I head down to meet him. The bus station is only 300m so we make a run for it. When we get there sweat is already running down our foreheads. It’s close to 30° C outside and not a single cool breeze. At least we got there on time and get a chance to catch our breaths. We had made it, at least so far. At the bus we realize our next problem. Neither me or D had got any money, neither cash or on our discount card and guess what, we’ve got seven minutes between arricing at the train station and the train’s departure. During that time we have to get to an ATM, withdraw money and get our tickets. We said a silent prayer that there wouldn’t be too much people there. Luckily someone listened to our prayer, cause the station was pretty much empty. We got our cash and tickets and headed out to the platform where the train still was. We even got two minutes before departure. Karma was on our side and we were victorious in the epic battle against time.
6.35 P.M.
As we arrive in Helsingborg where we got about 40 minutes before we gotta take to next train to our final destination. I’m starving so we go to McDonald to get some food. I get my burger and we both sit down. Suddenly D literally jumps out of the chair and start running in circles (He’s only been at the station in Helsingborg twice or so, so he’s not so familiar with the place’s layout). All my concentration is with my burger I’m totally lost when he screams “The present!!!” and starts sprinting down the stairs with leaps that would have made a gazelle jealous. I’m still totally lost and is staring at D with fear that he’s gone mad. Then it occurs to me, we forgot our friend’s birthday present in the train.
Shit.
We beat Time. Karma beat us.
Hopefully someone turned the present in to the lost-and-found department. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they’ve got it. Me and D are going to our friend this Thursday again when he graduates. With some luck (and karma) we might be able to give it to him then instead. At least we all had a great time and had the chance to catch up with old friends.
To finish this long post, here’s a picture from Knutpunkten in Helsingborg.
